EL PAYASO

My first short film with UNT's Short Film Club! I was a script supervisor on the first day of shooting, tracking audio and film takes for the editors to decipher later for the final product. It's a very active role and keeps you on your toes from first to thirty-third take. Unfortunately, I got a stomach bug the morning of the next day and couldn't continue working on set, but seeing how everything came together warms my heart for ages! Marsh Morales pitched this idea, and it was my first vote to be made into a film. His transparency and passion for this story inspired many others, seeing the beautiful result embedded above.

El Payaso tells the story of a Peruvian man named Mauricio who has run away to become a clown, a dream inherited from his father yet not fully supported from the rest of his family. He meets another "Bobo" in the business, partnering up and taking their shows to new heights, despite incessant calls from his mother to just come home. Follow Mauricio's journey of pursuing passion and finding family in the midst of all things.
